7-Zip 9.20

7-Zip is a software used to compress and decompress files in many compression formats.

But it is clearly distinguishable from the competition through its free and especially its performance.

In effect, compressing a file in ZIP format 7-Zip is more powerful as WinZip or PKZip having better compression rate 2 to 10%. In our tests, we were able to verify that compression gain (gain of 3% in a ZIP archive normal to WinZip).

Like his colleagues, in order to facilitate and accelerate the compression, you can compress a file by displaying the context menu (by right-clicking on the file icon). During compression, the format called the archive dropdown list, select the compression format you want (Zip, Tar, GZip, BZip2, 7z).

Side decompression, 7-Zip also supports many formats: Zip, Rar, Arj, Cab, Tar, GZip, BZip2, 7z ...

Of course, you can specify additional parameters during compression, as the application of a password.
