AbiWord has a nice and simple graphical interface.

Among its features include the possibilities of formatting of pages and paragraphs, a powerful spell checker, an interactive rule, the integration of styles, ability to undo / redo indefinitely, a Find / Replace and inserting images.

It can also import Microsoft Word and RTF (Rich Text Format) documents and save documents in HTML and LaTeX.

But the most significant AbiWord difference from almost every other word processors available is its native file format. A document saved in the native format (*. Abw) is written in XML and therefore in ASCII format. These files can then be read by any text editor on any platform
